In March 2015, he transitioned to work as a GIS technician in the Population and Census Research Units. Gary was hired as a staff data analyst in November 2016.

His work focuses on supervising data entry, while he and his team process law enforcement crash reports throughout New Mexico. He further prepares the data for the GPS database and the Traffic Research Unit while reporting to TRU clients.
